"2.) It is not “irrelevant”. If they didn’t want people playing Single Player or with A.I., they should have just made it Online-Only like Team Fortress 2. There is a single-player/co-op mode here, there’s no excuse for it to be so hellish."

The point of the bots is for them to take the place of a person till someone shows up. And the point of singleplayer is for those who don't have friends (like you obviously) or want to practice

3. You can complete each section of a campaign in 15 mins. If you need to take a break quit at the next safe room and just restart at that safe room next time you play. What I'm getting out of your need for a save system is that you lose so often (aka your a bad player) that you would like to save before every big event so if you die you can just reload and try again which is not what this game is about.

Team-work doesn't mean shit when your A.I. companions are programmed to be as unhelpful as possible, and all of the human assistance either griefs you or speed-runs through the level, not helping anyone but themselves and generally not giving a fuck about the point of the game.

Inker:

1.) I like the idea of being punished for rushing through a stage. It's too bad that's what everyone does online. Ditto to lagging behind, which for some reason is exactly what Valve thought the A.I. team-mates should do.

2.) It is not "irrelevant". If they didn't want people playing Single Player or with A.I., they should have just made it Online-Only like Team Fortress 2. There is a single-player/co-op mode here, there's no excuse for it to be so hellish.

3.) Putting words in my mouth does not make your argument a solid one. I didn't say saving should happen in online multiplayer. I think it should happen in the Single-Player mode, which sorely needs it.

1) The fact that taking on special infected 1 on 1 is difficult is entirely the point. Running ahead or lagging behind is punished since the entire object of the game is to stay with the group and work together. And very rarely do you see 4 specials all show up at once and attack in unison to incap every member of the team at the same time.

2) The AI being bad is entirely irrelevant. The game is designed to be played through with 4 human players. The AI is there to be a placeholder so the game doesnt grind to a halt should someone need to leave.

3) Why would you save in a multiplayer game? Should TF2 have a save system too? And if you're just playing through a multiplayer game on your own, then you're playing it entirely wrong.

So how badly has VALVe made fun of you? I'm curious to know if they've sent you a picture of them all laughing at your failure of a blog. If they have mind posting the pic?

Necrothug- I welcome comments and criticism. You'll see I even allowed Eltiar to call me an idiot. I appreciate yours though, because at least you put some time and effort into it. However, I have to contest your points:

1.) I understand that a game like this should be about team-work. But it's not. Every match I played online, I was the one healing injured team-mates, who wanted to rush through the Campaign and leave the stragglers behind. I was the one picking up incap'd team-mates. And when I was playing as a Special Infected, I was the one keeping an eye on where my team-mates were, and observing the right time to strike, while they kamikaze'd themselves by running head-on in the open into a group of four.

I can't say I'm some bona-fide God at Left 4 Dead 2 multiplayer, but in the dozens of matches I've played, I was pretty much the only person who really understood what that game is supposed to be about. Everyone else thinks of it as a race, even when we're not playing Versus or Scavenge.

---

2.) The A.I. is not "mediocre". That is too kind. It is completely unhelpful in every way. There is no excuse for work this shoddy. You don't make the player rely on team-mates who are unreliable.

---

3.) I don't think the multiplayer side should have a save system. I think the overlong, needlessly punishing single-player mode should have that. Did people really think I was only referring to their abysmal online mode in that letter?

Really, I don't think I'm being unreasonable here.
